Becoming a Real Estate Associate
To become a real estate associate in Alberta, you must:

Step 3: Secure a job with an Alberta real estate brokerage |

Step 4: Submit an application for licensing (through your broker) to the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA). A criminal record check is also required. Once your application is approved, you will be licensed to practice real estate as an associate in Alberta. |
* Individuals wishing to conduct only property management activities are required to complete Phase 2: Fundamentals of Real Estate in REAP and the Introduction to a Career in Property Management offered through RECA. Those wishing to be a real estate associate but not conduct property management activities do not need to complete the Introduction to a Career in Property Management .
Please note: You must apply for your licence within ONE YEAR of completing the Real Estate Associates Program.
